It's 1977 and an ordinary American couple are about to celebrate their twentieth wedding anniversary. Dwight's special present for his wife is tickets for every date of an Elvis Presley tour - he figures that he was the man that brought them together, so surely there could be no better way to celebrate. The only problems are his wife is no longer as fond of Elvis as he is, the tour starts a long, long way from home, and today is August 16, and Elvis is about to leave the building for the last time.
'Are You Lonesome Tonight?' is a fictional play based on real events.
"A very well written piece. The dialogue is filled with wit and pathos"
