"The tale is ticking, the cogs turn hereafter.
The telling is mine, for I am the Clock Master..."
When a stubborn young girl enters a shop of clockwork wonders, she soon finds herself lost amongst the Clock Master’s strange stories of magic and music boxes! Of minstrels and monkeys! Of clockwork girls and paper birds! Yet there is a real twist in the tale when she discovers the true nature of her mysterious trinket. What will she decide to do?

“Wonderfully enchanting storytelling and puppetry… One not to be missed.”
Remotegoat 2010
“…a real treat… I really hope to see more from this multi-talented troop of actors, storytellers, puppeteers and musicians. Enchanting.”
Lady In The Dark, Julia Rank 2009
Suitable for adults and everyone else aged 5 and upwards, The Clock Master is a visually enchanting modern fable dealing with the eternal themes of ownership and inner beauty. Performed with live music, projected animation, ensemble storytelling and moments of mild puppet-peril!
“Don’t listen to stories, they’re dangerous tender.
For who wants a life of mystery and adventure…?”
About Sparkle and Dark's Travelling Players
Inspired by a sense of community the company has become a collective of writers, poets, actors, artists and musicians. The show is devised by the group, with cast members Nikolai Calcoen, Ceridwen Smith, Clare Barrett and Louisa Ashton. Recycled, found and reused materials make up the bulk of the puppets and the set, which are made inhouse by Sparkle and Dark’s design team lead by Shelley Knowles-Dixon. We are now looking forwards to our series of workshops on storytelling, puppet making and music, working with schools and community groups.
